525 S Winchester Blvd, San Jose, CA: This ultra-creepy, 160-room Victorian mansion was rumored to be built so Mrs. Winchester could evade the ghosts of those killed with Winchester rifles she thought were following her. It’s bursting with secret passageways, bizarre staircases and maze-like hallways. And ironically, the ghost of Mrs. W. will likely follow you around. It’s open for tours and it’s so popular you can get an annual pass. Harry Houdini was so impressed he gave it the name “Mystery House”. It was sold after her death for only $135,000 at auction. There is no current estimate for the property.
